- Camera data: QR codes scanned through the camera are processed locally to extract vendor information and route to vendor profiles. We do not store images captured by the camera.
- Photos: When you upload profile pictures or QR posters.
- Advertising ID: Collected by Google AdMob for displaying ads.
- Usage data: Collected via Firebase Analytics.
- Device information such as IP address, device model, operating system, and app diagnostics may be collected automatically for security, analytics, and performance purposes.
3. How We Use Data
- To connect you with vendors based on your location.
- To personalize and deliver banner ads.
- To help vendors list their services and showcase offerings.
- To improve app performance and troubleshoot issues.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
We only share information with trusted service providers such as Firebase (Google) and Google AdMob strictly for authentication, analytics, and advertising functionality.
5. Permissions
- Location: To locate nearby vendors and show services in your area.
- Camera: To scan QR codes of vendors for quick routing and access to vendor profiles.
- Photos: To allow uploading profile pictures and QR posters.
- Internet: For core app functionality, authentication, and real-time data synchronization.
6. Vendor Interactions
We do not manage or guarantee vendor quality. You contact vendors at your own discretion.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion by emailing us at the address below. We will process verified deletion requests within a reasonable time.
8. Legal Rights
You have rights to access, correct, or delete your data under applicable laws including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, and Indian data protection regulations.
9. User Moderation & Safety Tools
Report & Block System: NearMe provides tools for users to report harmful content and block abusive users. These mechanisms are essential for maintaining a safe community.
- Report Functionality: Users can report listings, vendor profiles, or user accounts that violate our safety standards or contain prohibited content
- Block Feature: Users can block other users to prevent unwanted contact or interactions
- Action Timeline: We reserve the right to remove any listing or ban any account that violates our safety standards within 24–72 hours of a verified report
- Permanent Actions: Serious violations (e.g., harassment, threats, exploitation) will result in immediate account termination without warning
Your safety is our priority. We encourage users to report any suspicious, inappropriate, or dangerous activity using the in-app reporting mechanism.
10. Prohibited Items & Compliance
Safety & Legal Protection: To protect users and comply with Indian law and Google Play policies, vendors shall not list or promote the following items:
- Alcohol & Tobacco: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapes, e-cigarettes, or nicotine products
- Firearms & Weapons: Guns, ammunition, explosives, or other dangerous weapons
- Prescription Medications: Prescription-only drugs or controlled substances
- Adult Content: Sexual services, nudity, or adult-themed materials
- Illegal Drugs: Recreational drugs or substances prohibited under Indian law
- Gambling Services: Betting, gaming, or lottery-related services
- Counterfeit Goods: Fake or unauthorized replicas of branded products
Enforcement: Vendors who violate this policy will face immediate permanent ban from the platform without notice and without refund of any account credits or fees. Repeat violations may be reported to relevant authorities.
We maintain this list to ensure NearMe remains a safe, legal, and trustworthy platform for all users in India and globally.
